Principles

FTL rests on eight principles. They are Fenexity principles derived from ASD-STE100, software-engineering conventions, and scientific writing — not a reproduction of any external standard.

1. P1 — One preferred term for one concept

   Use one preferred term for one concept within a defined context.

2. P2 — No stylistic variation

   Do not vary terminology for stylistic reasons.

3. P3 — Explicit actors and actions

   Use explicit actors and actions.

4. P4 — Short, structurally clear sentences

   Prefer short, structurally clear sentences.

5. P5 — Explicit conditions

   State conditions explicitly.

6. P6 — Preserve uncertainty

   Preserve uncertainty; do not strengthen a possibility into a requirement.

7. P7 — Quantitative instead of vague

   Use quantitative statements instead of vague comparative language where practical.

8. P8 — Preserve meaning and intent

   Preserve meaning and intent when summarizing or transforming information.
